Let’s Grab a Drink
Vancouver is quickly becoming the craft beer capital of Canada. With so many great local brews available throughout the city, the question becomes, where do we start? These places are great to check out if you’re looking for new brews to enjoy or looking for somewhere to spend your Sunday as you watch NFL Football all day. Here are the Best Places in Vancouver to Grab a Beer.
Strange Fellows Brewing – 1345 Clark Drive Vancouver, British Columbia
Strange Fellows look to create beer that celebrates the people, traditions and ways of life from around the world. Founders Iain and Aaron may seem to be polar opposites from the outside looking in, but it is this synergy of method and madness that has lead them to create what one reviewer describes as “a damn fine beer.” Their impressive space and friendly atmosphere won’t disappoint.
Bomber Brewing – 1488 Adanac Street Vancouver, British Columbia
We’re not sure there could be a more Canadian story; a brewery born from friendship and hockey. Just over a year old, Bomber Brewing is quickly establishing themselves as a staple in the city of Vancouver. Recently they turned heads when they incorporated ingredients from Vancouver’s Botanical Gardens, unfortunately these brews were part of a one off batch, but the sky’s the limit with these guys, and we can’t wait to taste their next creation.
Parallel 49 Brewing Company – 1950 Triumph Street Vancouver, British Columbia
The Parallel 49 team have something for everyone, from clean, crisp, refreshing pale lager to a dry hopped wheat ale. Oh and that is just what is in their “Always Around” selection of beer. They have a countless number of seasonal and aged creations. People seem to like Parallel 49 as they have just about 400 five star reviews.
Powell Street Brewery – 1357 Powell Street Vancouver, British Columbia
The Powell Street Brewery has a comfortable little lounge where you can sample one of their many beers as you wait to refill your growler. The welcoming atmosphere and great beer is the perfect place to relax and enjoy some true craft beer. With reviews like “very good, easy drinking, and crisp” and “friendly, knowledgeable staff” this is a must try if you are hanging out downtown Vancouver.
Biercraft – Commercial Dr., Cambie St, and Wesbrook Village at UBC Vancouver, British Columbia
Can’t make it to all the local breweries? Stop by BierCraft. They have more than 120 different beer on tap, from Belgium to local craft so there is something for every beer drinker. Their daily specials are very affordable and offer a great chance to expand your beer palate. Complementing the beer is great menu of food and friendly service.
