Harman and his team were just amazing. Everything arrived and although not everything is unpacked, every box was in great shape and so far nothing is broken. Moved from BC to Manitoba and had my things stored until possession to move in at my new home. Would have been under 5,000 but I needed it stored for a bit and needed to have a platform put over one item. Wish I would have taken a picture of how they tetris the boxes onto the van. We recently moved from Edmonton Alberta to Victoria BC.
Two years previously we had worked with Aaron Houghtling at Eager Beaver Moving and Storage for a combined moved that included moving 11000 lbs of household goods within Edmonton and 4000 lbs from Edmonton to Victoria. Aaron coordinated with Great Canadian Van Lines in 2024 for the Edmonton to Victoria leg. We had incredible service in 2024 from both Eager Beaver and Great Canadian Van Lines so went back to them again.

Our experience this time (July 2026) was even better. Aaron responded to my first email within 20 minutes. He described everything I needed to do and sent necessary forms immediately. Aaron’s quote (based on my written list of items) was within 400 lbs of the actual weight. He was extremely communicative and always available when I had questions. Similarly, the relationship between Eager Beaver and Great Canadian Van Lines (GCVL) is extremely well organized. As soon as Aaron had the list of items from me, he contacted GCVL who were in touch as soon as they heard from Aaron. From then on GCVL was outstanding. My schedule was very tight. I had to move out in one morning so that a junk removal crew could come in the same afternoon to completely empty the 2000 sq ft condo so that cleaners could come in the next day. This was essential as we had an ~$4000 damage deposit we wanted back. GVCL responded to my emails within ½ a day (usually within the hour) and were very accommodating. They started very early in the morning on move day and arrived with a crew of 5 to make sure that they were done on time. They wrapped all furniture etc and loaded the truck in 135 min.

I interacted primarily with Kuki but also Jai. They were awesome. The entire team was very professional, extremely careful of the condo (antique hardwood floors etc), putting down protective carpet etc. absolutely everywhere including in the common areas in the condo complex. There was no damage anywhere after they moved out.

GCVL was also extremely helpful in organizing delivery of the contents to our new place in Victoria. We could not be in Victoria for 4 days after the move out. They organized their trucks to give us this additional time (which was 2 days later that the timing that worked best for GCVL). Then the unloading – exceptional again. We had Kuki and Jai to unload. Having the same people unload and load is very helpful. They knew all the items and how they were packed. Not a single item was broken, not even any the 8 items that were flagged during loaded as highly fragile and high risk such as 5’ tall ceramic vases etc, 6’ lamps with glass lamp shades). Kuki and Jai were again very professional, fun to work with and efficient. They placed everything in the town house where we asked, unpacked all the furniture…all in less than 3 hours.

I doubt we will be moving again but if we do, we will definitely use all the same people.

Arsh was very easy to deal with. When he showed up he informed me they were doing inventory and loading in the same day. I wasn’t prepared for this and he showed me great patience. The crew was very careful with our belongings and ensured the were wrapped up appropriately. Highly recommend him.

Highly recommended to anyone moving within Canada—they truly gave us great value for our money. The entire move was fast and efficient, the inventory was accurate, and they took extra care to protect all of our belongings. We moved from New Brunswick to BC. Everything arrived in the right condition, even our particle wood furnitures, which companies usually can’t fully guarantee because of the material.

The team was quick and well-coordinated, so all we had to do was sit back and let them handle the heavy lifting. When our belongings arrived, they were very thorough in making sure everything was accounted for. There was even one instance where we missed checking a box on the inventory list, and the staff member with us didn’t leave until we found it—which we did. They also made sure to protect the space and checked for any possible damage during the move.

They accommodated changes to our pick-up and drop-off dates without any issues. Customer service stayed responsive throughout the rescheduling, and they were transparent about where our belongings were while in transit.

If I have to option to give beyond 5 stars, I’ll do it! Kudos to the guys who worked with us: Lukas (ON), Harman (AB), and Nav (BC). Great people, super friendly, and very approachable. We felt really well taken care of throughout the entire process.

I have recently moved my senior parents from Ontario to BC. My big concern was what moving company to use, as I started my search I was bomb barded with different emails from so many companies. As I sifted through doing my research on each company this vanline checked all my boxes.

Harman came to move my things from Manitoba to Alberta. He was excellent! He called me ahead of time with pick up confirmation. When in the apartment, he itemized everything very efficiently. I was so happy with my recent move with Great Canadian Van Lines. I just had an heirloom dining table and chairs delivered to my daughter’s home in Kelowna, and couldn’t be happier with Great Canadian Van Lines. Wade, the driver, arrived right on time, disassembled the table, wrapped each piece individually, and then reassembled the table when he delivered. He was friendly, courteous, and professional in all aspects. I really enjoyed chatting with him as he packed things up. The table arrived in perfect condition in excellent time, and the communication from the company and Wade, was timely and professional. Yes they were more expensive than the cheap quotes online, but there were no extra fees, and with the price of gas going up nearly 30% after the quote was given, there was no fuel surcharge, or holding the table ransom for any extras. All in all I would highly recommend Great Canadian Van Lines, and especially Wade. Candace made the booking easy, and was willing to work with my schedule, to pick up the furniture.

Mine was a very small load from the east coast to central Canada, inner city to inner city. An excellent experience all round with Great Canadian Van Lines. The communication was professional, friendly and transparent and inspired confidence that all would go well. The drivers and handlers at both ends handled my possessions with courtesy and care, and the price was very fair. (I had been considering using a pod, but I soon realized the unwieldiness of a pod given my inner city locations at both ends. The loading and unloading work would have been all mine to do, and the price of a pod was also substantially higher.) I hadn’t anticipated at the outset how good my choice would be to go with Great Canadian Van Lines instead. Very satisfied!

From the initial phone call with Candace to unloading our stuff at our new home, GCVL was professional, polite, friendly, and very clear on how everything would work regarding moving to another province. The estimate was accurate. Jas and Tim came over to load up our belongings. They were both punctual, polite, and very professional. We arrived later than the moving van due to highway conditions, but Jas was very accommodating and took care of everything for us. I was very pleased with my recent moving experience. Dave and his crew arrived to pick up and also to deliver my belongings at the appointed times. They were both friendly, efficient and obliging. There were no damages to anything and the only disappointment I have is that the pull handle from a desk drawer was missing. However, when I contacted Dave he knew where it was and promised to drop it off the next time he came my way. I would certainly recommend this company.

The Great Canadian Van lines team was exceptional. They came to our apartment on the Burlington Lakeshore and made quick, neat, professional work when emptying our apartment. They took special care in taking apart our hospital beds and ensuring all the hardware was stored in a box with a label and was included with the inventory record , so we could find them easily afterwards in Edmonton. We were in need of a good night sleep!! After some coffee and chatting, the team leader said he would drive our things WEST and meetup with us in our new home in a few days…. and there he was! I moved from one province to another and same movers that picked up dropped off my items. Eddie and his courteous team did an excellent and efficient job getting my move loaded in the lower mainland of BC. They carefully wrapped all my furniture and handled the boxes noting those that were marked as fragile.
When they arrived Eddie and his London crew were just as friendly and efficient in bringing my goods into my new residence. They placed all of my furniture and belongings in the rooms as marked, assembled the furniture that was taken apart for the trip and left clearing up and materials that were needed for the move. I am very happy with the job they did. I found no damages to my goods that were handled in my move. I recommend Great Canadian Van Lines.
As a note: this is the 1st time out of 4 cross country moves that my weight was less than the estimate! This speaks to the integrity of the company.

Arsh and his partner moved my belongings quickly and were careful to avoid breakage. They put the frame of my bed together as well as the mattresses. And they set up my TV too! They were polite and sweet. If you are moving these gents can make the move a no stress event.

Great experience!!! Went from Quebec City to Victoria, BC and after learning that there are only 6 accredited moving companies in all of Canada it was an easy choice picking Great Canadian Van lines especially after reading the reviews about the competitor (with almost the same name, don’t be fooled). Yes i paid a little bit more to go to Great Canadian but if you read between the lines, and compare the estimates you will realize the competitors do not offer actual insurance that will cover damage ( check the reviews of the competitors and the nightmares) …. YES everything arrived on time, nothing missing, professional pickup, professional drop-off. The Driver/Chief Amar is a Gem!! Great guy, super professional, funny, and totally responsive to any questions or concerns you have. I absolutely recommend this company, and make a request for Amar if you can.
