Just a perfect, seamless process. Booking, all done on email and virtual, was quick and easy. Wade C, Robin and Rowan did my load out. I was at breaking when they arrived, and Robin put her arms around me and said “we’ve got it from here”. And was she ever right. Everything was organized, efficient and stress-free. On loaf in, it was only Wade, but you wouldn’t know it. He was the equivalent of a full team plus an ox – again easy, efficient and careful. I would not hesitate to book with Wade’s team again. Team was professional and experienced in packing and moving. Head of the moving team, Yad, was efficient and kept his good humour even when the two packing helpers didn’t show up,the next day. He had only one helper and he was extremely organized. They managed to load our entire house in a day. Our belongings arrived safely after 12 days in storage with no damage. We appreciated the experience that Yan has and would recommend him as the lead for clients contemplating a move.

Amazing service! I am someone who gets anxious a lot when it comes to moving. You’re putting all your stuff in someone to transport all the way somewhere you don’t even know yet – in our case (Ontario to BC). Steve and his team did a great job grabbing all our stuff (1 bedroom) in around an hour and a half and delivering it to BC all in one hour. The timeline they give you is very good. We arrived and the next morning they were at our home unpacking. Everything was extremely organzied and amazing communication and emails from GCVL and Steve.

With GCVL, you get the feeling they want to give you the best moving experience imaginable. From the first conversation I had with moving consultant Candace Frick, I knew something was different. It all begins with the conversation. Candace was warm, funny, smart, able to answer all my questions – and most of all – interested in me. Plus, she actually pursued my business – calling me to see if there was any more she could do to help my decision making. I also dealt with Kyle – GCVL’s operations manager. Excellent again. There’s definitely a corporate culture of catering to the customer at GCVL. Candace and Kyle exhibit it in spades. As it turned out, a serious health problem prevented me from going through with the move I’d been planning, but I wouldn’t hesitate in giving GCVL a loud five-star recommendation. These folks are simply THE BEST.

We moved from Toronto to BC, and Paul and his team were efficient, reliable and friendly. He called ahead of time to let us know the exact date of delivery and also on the day of delivery to let us know they were on their way. Our goods were delivered quickly and we have a lot of glass items and furniture with glass but none were broken. Upon arrival at our new place, Paul set up a station where items that pass through it can be ticked off from our list and he made sure that everything was delivered before leaving. Also appreciate that we received useful information from GCVL regarding what to expect during move out and move in days. We had a great experience with GCVL and would definitely recommend them.

I recently moved from Ontario to Alberta and my experience was wonderful from consultant to my actual move. Candace (my consultant) was able to provide me with a competitive quote and a ton of information to help me decide which company to use. She was always prompt and kind with her responses. The driver for my move was Codie. He was also wonderful. Came in, laid down runners so the floor didnt get dirty, wrapped up my furniture, and labeled everything. It was quick and easy and he was very friendly. For delivery, I only had a tiny bit of damage to one piece of furniture (an edge on a built particle board dresser), which I honestly expected it to be worse as particle board doesn’t travel well. All other boxes and items were intact and delivered with no issues. I even had a glass cabinet that I shipped that had no issues, and I honestly didn’t expect that to make it. I would definitely recommend Codie as your driver! He takes great care of your items. Overall, if doing another long distance move, they will absolutely be my first call!

She was very accurate in estimation of the weight of our items, at the end we ended up paying less. (Note to future customers: Don’t accept over the phone quotes. Amar (our driver) was a great communicator. His communication about moving date and timeline was accurate. He held true to the time he promised from packing until delivery. On the day of packing and moving the team that showed up were very cautious with our stuff. They packed meticulously. We were very impressed that all of our items made it to destination without even a scratch. (We had many big glass and mirrors and all made it to the new home!). On the day of delivery the team (another group plus Amar) were on time and fast in offloading. Considering the cross country drive it was impressive how accurate Amar’s timelines were. The delivery went seamless with all items delivered as promised.

I Love Candice, She rocks !from verbal contents of what i had and her sent quote to final weight and move a few hundred more, but most pleased. My Driver Eddie for my goods gave a heads up for arrival for pick us as noted , there were 3 packers for my pick up inc Eddy ,of furniture and were have fun and enjoying the morning these men are pros at their craft ! the had three rooms up stairs and the crew carring 3 boxes @ a time ,Wow ! between the three rooms no detail was left un done as near all objects were wrapped inc my shredder ! my wrapped art of mant was put together was put in large boxes together for ease and care. from garage contents and three all was loadedd on to 52’ft moving van was finished in 2 hrs and 20 minutes, Impressive ! I recently relocated to Calgary from Toronto and finding a moving company was definitely a daunting endeavor from the start. I did some research and was completely spammed by some local companies.

Yes it was pricy. Then again I moved across the damn country! (A U-Haul estimate was actually more expensive than hiring GCVL which is absurd as you pay for gas and drive yourself this way.) Moving is stressful and expensive regardless and if you want it done right, you should consider this company.

My final charge was LOWER than the estimate based on weight, and this process was explained to me clearly. The movers arrived and busted their ass moving my stuff. They were done in three hours, tagging and wrapping items and making sure my valuables were packed properly.

There was under $120 of packing fees, regarding items I did NOT pack properly. This was fair and explained to me.

They arrived in Calgary exactly when they said they would and moved my things into storage. There was an extra fee as it was a second floor, which was fair and explained to me. (There were no hidden fees, every charge was logical and transparent, they even offer YouTube videos explaining their process)

All said and done I had a FIVE STAR experience with GCVL and am strongly recommending their service to you! So take a deep breath and let the professionals do their thing!

When I moved from Toronto to Vancouver our movers were horrible (broken furniture, lost items, hidden charges). When we had to relocate back to Toronto from Vancouver I really did my research and decided to use GCVL. From the moment Iris visited me at my apartment for the initial assessment for a quote I knew I was in good hands. She answered all my questions and was incredibly understanding. When Eddie and his team arrived the load in was smooth as silk. They even allowed me to watch the weigh-in at the scales. I used Canadian Van lines, had driver Steve G and his team and another Steve helping me coordinate a cross provincial move from Toronto to Vancouver in under a month! NOT ONLY DO THEY HAVE THE BEST RATES for moving but they are quick, efficient, and the quote I was given on the phone was very very in line with what I actually paid! I paid a bit above the quote as last minute, I added more items! Steve G the driver and his team were quick and efficient with loading my belongings and unloading! They helped me speedily dissemble furniture and even gave me suggestions on cost saving throughout! I would utilize them again and again!!!! No hiccups, issues or stress! For reference, my belongings were picked up May 22nd in Toronto area and I received them June 8th the same week I arrived to Vancouver! It was the BEST

They handled our 2000km move well. Each mover was efficient and polite. The company handled our furnishings with care. The driver Daniel was exceptional! Highly recommend.

Ron & the team did great job overall, the company lives up to their 4% claim Rate. Only one dresser had minor temporary fixable damage. However the dresser still wobbly & needs to be replaced.
( one of the helper movers in Vancouver was knocking our Ikea furniture saying it wasn’t good quality because of the wood they use I’m sorry but whatever people have if it’s in excellent condition when you move it it should stay that way, not everybody can afford solid wood furniture, regardless of the quality if something is intact before a move it should stay that way)

Our $250 Foam mattress topper was damaged and ripped up the topper when we took off the tape that was put directly onto the foam ( which was was done by the mover who knocked our Ikea dresser) It could have been wrapped in plastic then taped which would have been a better idea. Nothing else was broken in the long Trek from Vancouver to Montreal 😃

We just used this company to move from Kamloops to Winnipeg and had a great experience. Starting off with the consultant, Candace, who was incredibly knowledgeable, from doing the initial estimate virtually with us to always having answers to our questions. Jas and his moving team were great from start to finish. They were accommodating in every way by getting our stuff to Winnipeg as quick as possible, making sure we understood how the moving in process of things worked, and even took ownership of the one broken item in the move and were quick to assure us it would be taken care of on their end. Was an excellent experience from beginning to end. Sales and dispatch kept us informed from our first contact, Jas and his team of packers and movers took care of our stuff like it was their own. Arrived at our remote destination as promised with all our furniture and possessions in perfect shape. Unloaded and placed things where we wanted them. Couldn’t recommend them more highly.

We had a great experience with GCVL. They moved us from Alberta to Ontario. All items were carefully packed and arrived undamaged. It took about a week to deliver our stuff. They used runners to protect the flooring and both homes were left in great condition. We originally obtained 5 quotes and while they were not the cheapest, they were still very competitive amongst other long distance movers. I highly recommend using them.

We recently moved from Edmonton to Toronto & cannot say how happy we are with gcvl. Really friendly staff, everyone was clear and easy to talk to and ensured I knew everything I needed to know. All the logistics were sorted and they arranged a pick up really quickly.

For the move it was perfect. Moved from a storage unit in BC to Ontario, and I couldn’t be there when they picked everything up. It all went off without a hitch, everything was protected really well, the transit was about 2.5 weeks and unloading was quick and easy. Nothing damaged or scraped, genuinely flawless stuff.

For cost reference I had about 1500lbs worth of stuff (small studio apartment) which was about $3400 to go cross country.

My move was from Mississauga to Kamloops, BC.
Wade and his associate showed up early for my pick-up from the U-Haul storage. Wade was amazing with the tractor trailer, he was unbelievable on how he maneuvered (in reverse) the tractor trailer into such a small space! Unreal, that was experience and skill, top notch. Already I was impressed. They carefully wrapped items and documented everything. This was on Mar.22/25. I arrived via flight to Kamloops on April 1/25. I received a text from Wade on Wednesday stating that he will arrive on the morning of Friday April 4/25. He arrived bright and early Friday morning in Kamloops. The offloading went well and all my belongings arrived. The only thing that was damaged was my bed frame. (I found the damage later when I was assembling my bed). Overall, despite that, I am extremely impressed with the service, my anxiety level was awful but they made it easy and I was in constant contact with the office asking questions. Their customer service was exceptional. I would recommend Great Canadian Van Lines, they were reasonable, friendly and very informative. I researched and contacted others but their prices kept changing. Again, very professional and overall satisfied.

All items were wrapped properly, 3 men loading truck in Winnipeg, only took a few hours. They were kind, courteous, professional and personable. I was flexible with delivery which added no pressure on drivers or myself. When load arrived in West Kelowna, it was put in a storage facility until I get possession date of my home. Great experience. Moved from rural Ontario to Vancouver BC. My belongings were then kept in GCVL storage for 2 months. Met the Relocation Sales Consultant, Sara, via email and video. Very responsive, well laid out planning and execution. On time, great crews. The team in Ontario, led by Amar were so well organized. My belongings were moved out and secured in the truck without any issues. Ed, from the Vancouver office, supported some questions I had about what I thought was a lost box or two. He has clearly done this work for a while and solved my concern quickly….boxes were not lost….that was on me!!! I have used GCVL twice now and if I have to do this again, they are my first and only call to make it happen.

I moved from Cambridge ON to Prince Albert SK in the middle of winter. GCVL won my business for the following reasons:
Initial contact, Sarah, was awesome – professional, personable, and responded PROMPTLY to additional email inquiries. I never felt I was ‘just another client’ or that my questions were tiresome, and I was not brushed off simply because I was only moving a one bedroom apt.. Load-on and load-off dates were confirmed in advance and it took only 7 days from load to unload, vs. 2- 6 weeks like some companies. Contents remained on the truck until unloading vs. being transferred to a warehouse or to a shuttle. IMO, when contents are moved often, there is a greater chance of damage. No hidden fees dumped on at the end. In fact, driver noticed an error on the invoice regarding the truck’s tare weight for which I received a refund and also one for being underweight from the estimate. The driver, Daniel, (who was GCVL’s “Driver Of The Year” last year) was absolutely top notch. He and his personally chosen team worked unbelievably quickly yet thoroughly. All pieces were wrapped in heavy duty moving blankets , and if needed, ENCLOSED IN CARDBOARD, and then taped up. Daniel’s inventory was carefully done and boy, can he maneuver that truck! It is obvious he enjoys his job and takes pride in his work. EVERYTHING arrived in very good condition, even my piano for which I was particularly concerned.

I HIGHLY recommend GCVL without hesitation – honest, careful, personable, & professional. You won’t be disappointed. Message me if you want to know what other companies I interviewed.

So I rarely write reviews, but finding a good moving company is hard and I did a lot of research for my Toronto to Vancouver move. I read a lot of reviews from many different companies, and there are a lot of scary industry horror stories out there. So doing your homework is key, and I am glad I did.

I ultimately decided on GCVL based on their reviews. I can confidently say I made the right choice and have nothing but good things to say.

After sending out a few inquiries requesting a quote, GCVL was the first to respond to me. The virtual tour and quote process with Sarah was quick and easy, and their quote came in the lowest of the three companies I was considering. The icing on the cake here is that once my items were picked up and weighed, the cost actually came in lower than the quote, which was a pleasant surprise.

On both ends of the move, the staff were professional and courteous and my items arrived in perfect condition – nothing missing and not a scratch on anything. I opted for a full packing service and the pessimist in me expected some small amount of damage. However, even things like my champagne flutes, cocktail coupes and wine decanters safely made it.

Overall, couldn’t be happier with the move.

I had a great moving experience with Great Canadian Van Lines and their affiliate company, Parkview Movers, during my move from Toronto to Halifax. All other moving companies quoted me 2-4 weeks for delivery of my belongings. Great Canadian quoted 3-7 days, so I went with them. They picked up my belongings on Friday and delivered to my new home on Monday. Shaw and Darryl were very efficient and handled my belongings carefully. Thanks

This was our first experience using a moving service / crew in Canada.
Online there is a LOT of information about people being scammed, or items being withheld until additional surprise payments were made.
I’m happy to report that this was NOT the case with GCVL.
The entire process went very smoothly and was laid out very well by Jeremy when doing the original quote.
Our driver Eddie and his team were excellent and didn’t damage any items (all furniture was taped up in moving mats prior to going in the truck)
The turn around was surprisingly fast given we moved across provinces and on the destination side we had all of our equipment unloaded within 1 hour.
I can’t think of anything negative to say about the service and would highly recommend GCVL to anyone
