Protect Your Home
We all think it will never happen to us, but as easy as it could happen to your neighbor down the street, your house can be burglarized as well. You can do many things to make your home more secure without breaking the bank. These are eight ways to make your home secure.
1.Get rid of the extra key
It’s not uncommon to have an extra key “hidden” somewhere outside the house, but get rid of it, anyone trying to get into your house knows to check under your welcome mat.
2. Get a dog
This is a win-win situation for everyone in the family. A family dog is a great addition to your household and is a great way to deter unwanted guests from entering your home. Dogs will cause a burglar to turn away by barking and creating unwanted noise.
3. Change your locks
You don’t know too much about the owners of your home before, or who had access to their home while they were living there. You should change the locks on your home, this way you’ll know every person who has a key to your home.
4. Trim your shrubs and bushes
Keep the bushes around your trimmed at all times. The more often they are trimmed the more difficult it is for anyone to hide or creep around in them.
5. Install cameras
This route is a bit more expensive, but cameras around your home will usually deter unwanted patrons from trying anything funny as they know they will be spotted on camera.
6. Be friends with your neighbours
Create a relationship with your neighbours, they will naturally look out for your best interests when you’re not around.
7. Light up the outside
Lights outside your house will make everything around it much more visible. If there is one thing intruders don’t like, it’s lights.
