How to Pack, Seal and Label your Boxes for your Move

Quick Load Day Checklist – For your Boxes!

To help your move go smoothly, here’s a 30-second checklist for load day: Packed Boxes

  • Seal it Up: Tape the top and bottom seams of every box. No “tucked” flaps!
  • Weight Check: Heavy items (books) in small boxes; light items (pillows) in large ones.
  • The Shake Test: If it rattles, add more padding.
  • Clear Labels: Record the Room you would like your box moved to and write your Last Name on the tape on top of the box.

Boxes That Are NOT Ready

The following issues will cause delays and increase the risk of damage:

Boxes that cannot be safely lifted or stacked

Boxes left open or not sealed

Overpacked or underpacked boxes

Items not properly protected (no wrapping or padding)

Loose or unstable contents

Boxes That ARE Ready to be MOVED

Properly packed boxes must meet the following standards:

  • Fully closed and sealed with tape
  • Packed tightly to prevent contents shifting
  • Fragile items wrapped and protected
  • Weight evenly distributed (not too heavy)
  • Clearly labeled (Room and Last Name)

Why This Matters

Well-packed boxes allow our team to:

  • Move your items safely
  • Load and unload efficiently
  • Minimize the risk of damage
  • Keep your move on schedule
