When you move in to a new home you want to own the place and make it yours by adding some character to the place. Most times these home improvements will cost you a pretty penny, but we have some suggestions for you that will help you save that pretty penny and put it towards something better. It is easy to get tired of your current furniture or find an excuse to buy some new pieces. But it is also easy to keep the furniture you have and give it a new life simply by painting it a new color. It will look brand new and it will feel like a brand new piece of furniture, and all you had to do was buy paint.

2. Squeaky Doors

You know that one door in your house that sounds like it belongs to a house in a scary movie? Yea, it can be very annoying, Luckily there is a simple fix for it. Spray the door hinges with WD-40 or use petroleum jelly on the hinges and your haunted house door problem will be solved. Of the quick home improvements, this may be the quickest, easiest, cheapest, and the most common.

New paint can instantly brighten up a room. A new color will make you feel like you are sitting in a whole new different room. This will also be a good time to get your kids involved who may feel out of place in their new home by allowing them to choose the colour they want for their room.

If there is one place in the house that always gets crowded it is right in front of the main entrance to your home. Yelling at the kids to move their belongings can get tiring, so instead you can place two buckets/baskets by the door so the family has somewhere to drop their items when they walk in the house.

If you are living with your elderly parents or have kids who are constantly running up and down the stairs this may be a good idea to reduce accidents. Stairs can be very slippery, so to prevent someone from taking a tumble down the stairs, install a stair runner, it is one of the safest of quick home improvements that you will thank yourself for later.
