When we think about major cities in Canada, the first ones that come to mind are usually Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary. One city that should be definitely included in the discussion is Montreal, as it is the second largest city (population-wise) in Canada next to Toronto – being home to over 1.5 million people. Montreal features everything that a major city needs, and more. Here are few reasons for you to move to Montreal.

This is always a defining factor in a persons move and weighs heavily on the decision whether one is going to move or not. When it comes to the city of Montreal, real estate will not be a deterring factor. The average price of a home in Montreal is about $332,000 and rent for an apartment can range from $600 to $900. These prices are significantly cheaper than the prices in other big cities such as Toronto or Vancouver.

Montreal is one of the economic hotbeds of Canada, sitting second only to Toronto. The unique culture in Montreal also includes supporting one of hockey’s most storied franchises, the Montreal Canadiens, as well as many music festivals like Osheaga. All in all, Montreal is a culture driven city, and their culture includes plenty of fun times.

If you are looking for a fresh start and a place where you will have no problem filling your free time, a move to Montreal is a great for you. Residents are almost guaranteed to never have a dull moment once they are in this historic Canadian city.
